Protein motors use chemical and electrochemical energy to perform mechanical work, and are essential for almost every biological process. Theoretical modeling is an important part of uncovering the energy transduction mechanisms of protein motors.

I. Brief discussion on the theoretical framework

II. Some examples

1) the Fo part of the F1Fo ATPase

2) the F1 part of the F1Fo ATPase

3) A power point file explains how we can explain many motor behaviors through theoretical analysis and modeling, including the puzzling motor torque-speed relation of the bacterial flagellar motor observed by the Howard Berg group at Harvard University.
