RESEARCH
Our newly formed program allows M.S. and Ph.D. students the
opportunity to work in a variety of areas of Cell & Developmental
Biology. M.S. students are accepted directly into a lab of their
choice, while Ph.D. students engage in research rotations in 3 to
4 CDB labs of their choice during their first semester. This
rotation program exposes graduate students to different
approaches to biological research, and helps to determine the
best fit between a student's interests and the research groups at VT. |

SCHOLARSHIP
While engaging in research, you will take a series
of courses that
is tailored to your interests and professional training goals. You
will further broaden your biological education by attending and
participating in
departmental seminars, such as the CDB Seminar
Series, in which local, national and international biologists present
their research.

MENTORSHIP
You will develop your mentoring and teaching skills by partnering
with the faculty to teach Virginia Tech undergraduates, both in the
classroom and in the laboratory. |

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for admission as a graduate student to the
CDB Group at Virginia Tech, you must meet the following
academic requirements:
• GPA of 3.0 or higher in your major area of study
• GRE scores of 1100 or higher for the general test
• TOEFL scores of 550 or higher for international students
AND, most important of all, curiousity and an enthusiam for
