Students who complete the following will receive a B.S. degree in Biology with an option in Bio-Technology:

1. Successfully complete the College Core Requirements
2. Students must be making satisfactory progress toward their degree.
3. Students must complete 42 hours of Biology credits. Of these 42 credits, 35 credits are specifically required.
4. Students must earn a grade of "C" (2.0)or better in each of the following courses:

BIOL 1105	Principles of Biology
BIOL 1126	Biological Principles Lab
BIOL 1106	Principles of Biology
BIOL 1126	Biological Principles Lab

or the equivalent

5. Successfully complete the following courses:

BIOL 2004	Genetics
BIOL 2104	Cell and Molecular Biology
BIOL 2804	Ecology
BIOL 2704	Evolutionary Biology
BIOL 2604	General Microbiology
BIOL 2614	General Microbiology with Lab

6. Successfully complete the following courses plus any additional courses needed to total a minimum of 18 hours of biology electives. The 18 hours of electives must include TWO courses with inclusive or linked labs.

BIOL 3774	Molecular Biology
BIOL 4774	Molecular Biology Lab
BCHM 3114	Biochem for Biotechnology
BCHM 3124	Biochem for Biotechnology Lab

7. In addition to the biology courses students must also complete the following courses:

CHEM	1035	1036	General Chemistry
CHEM	1045	1046	General Chemistry Labs
CHEM	2535	2536	Organic Chemistry
CHEM	2545	2546	Organic Chemistry Labs
PHYS	2205	2206	General Physics
PHYS	2215	2216	General Physics Labs
BIOL	4784		Biotechnology Application

8. Students must complete one of the following math sequences:

1. MATH 1015	MATH 1016	MATH 2015	STAT 3615
2. MATH 1016	MATH 2015	STAT 3615
3. MATH 2015	MATH 2016	STAT 3615

NOTE:

1. A maximum of 4 credits may be BIOL 4974, 4984 (these courses are limited to students with junior standing and a minimum overall and Biology GPA of 3.0). Permission from the Department Head is required for enrollment in these courses.
2. BIOL 2405, 2406 (Human Anatomy & Physiology), 2414 may not be used as a Biology elective.
3. BION 3114 & 3124 Biochemistry for Biotechnology with Lab and BIOL 3774 & 4774 Molecular Biology with Lab will count as the two Biology Elective courses with lab.
4. BIOL 2604 & 2614 General Microbiology with Lab will not count as a biology lab requirement.
5. BIOL 4784 Biotechnology Application will not count as biology Credit.
