Biology Core Check Sheet (.pdf file)
Students must complete the following to receive a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences:
- Successfully complete the Curriculum for Liberal Education Requirements
- Students must be making satisfactory progress toward their degree.
- Students must complete 42 hours of credits in Biological Sciences. Of these 42 credits, 20 credits are specifically required.
- Students must take BIOL 1004 as freshmen.
- Students must earn a grade of "C" (2.0) or better in each of the following courses (or their equivalent):
- Successfully complete the following Biological Sciences core courses:

Successfully complete a minimum of 22 hours of additional Biological Sciences electives (1). The 22 hours of electives must include TWO courses at the 3000 level or higher of inclusive or linked laboratories, or stand-alone laboratories. The 22 hours must also include ONE COURSE from the electives listed below.
- In addition to the Biological Sciences courses, students must also complete the following courses:
- Students must complete the following math sequence, or its equivalent: MATH 1016, MATH 2015.
- Students must complete STAT 3615.
- Students must complete the ViEWS Requirements.
